Clamor deposit terms v0.3

Your USDC, plainly.

Your backing supports Clamor through yield earned in crypto-backed lending markets. Clamor does not leverage, trade, or speculate with deposited funds. Withdraw your USDC, subject to market liquidity and disclosed risks.

What you accept before depositing

  1. 01

Your USDC is lent out, against more collateral than the loan

My USDC is supplied to third-party overcollateralized crypto lending markets, where other participants may borrow it.

On Base, deposits are supplied to Aave v3. On Solana, to Save. Borrowers there must post more crypto collateral than they borrow. The vault may keep a disclosed share liquid (never more than 20%) to make withdrawals smoother. Your USDC does not sit untouched.

  2. 02

You keep a claim to withdraw, recorded on chain and paid only to your wallet

I keep a recorded claim to withdraw my USDC, subject to contract operation, market liquidity and available assets.

Each deposit records a USDC principal claim on chain. Only your wallet, or a delegate you name, can withdraw it, and the USDC always goes to your wallet on the network you deposited on. Nothing is bridged.

  3. 03

You can lose principal, but never to leverage or trading

Overcollateralization reduces some lending risks but does not eliminate loss of principal, protocol exploits, oracle failures or liquidation failures.

Lending markets can be hacked, misprice collateral or fail to liquidate in time. USDC itself depends on its issuer. Clamor's contracts can have bugs. Any of these can leave less USDC than everyone is owed.

  4. 04

Withdrawals can wait, and count as done only when the USDC is in your wallet

Withdrawals may be delayed or unsuccessful when not enough USDC is available.

When most of a market's USDC is borrowed, a withdrawal may have to wait for borrowers to repay. You can retry later or withdraw less. Clamor never shows a withdrawal as done until the USDC is in your wallet.

  5. 05

No insurance or guarantee, and any loss is shared equally, never paid to some first

Clamor does not insure deposits, guarantee immediate liquidity, or promise full principal recovery under every circumstance.

There is no FDIC or other insurance, and this is not a bank account or savings product. If the vault ever holds less than it owes, new deposits stop and every withdrawal is paid at the same reduced rate, so nobody is paid ahead of anybody else.

  6. 06

Clamor keeps the lending yield, but only once everyone's principal is covered

All lending yield above the amount required to meet outstanding principal claims belongs to Clamor.

That interest is Clamor's revenue. The contract only lets Clamor collect surplus above everyone's total principal plus a 1 USDC cushion, paid out in USDC and recorded on chain.

  7. 07

No yield for you, but a public stand and a say in what rises

I receive no interest or other financial return from Clamor for backing a cause.

Backing gets you a public place on the board, a say in what rises and company in what you care about. Not money.

What the contracts enforce

  • Deposit and claim, together or not at all

USDC goes to the approved market and your claim is recorded in the same transaction. If either fails, nothing moves.

  • Only you can withdraw

Your wallet, or a delegate you name, starts a withdrawal; the USDC can only go to you. No admin function can move it, and withdrawals can't be paused.

  • Principal before profit

Everything the vault can recover backs principal claims first. Clamor can collect only the surplus above them, valued at what the market would actually pay.

  • No borrowing, leverage or trading

The vaults can only supply to and withdraw from their market. There is no borrow, loop or swap path in the code.

  • One approved market per network

Aave v3's USDC pool on Base and Save's main USDC reserve on Solana, fixed when each vault was created. Moving to another market means a new vault you choose to move to.

  • Losses shared equally

If the vault ever holds less than it owes, deposits stop and every withdrawal is paid at the same rate.
